A standard ability (or power) for classes that can use ranged weapons to fire the weapon. Hunters do not have this ability. They have 
[Auto Shot] instead. Shooting in WoW is not that much different from other MMORPG games. A player with the ability to shoot in most cases moves to maximum range and then fires his ranged weapon. Shooting is very useful for finishing off an opponent or dealing damage while avoiding the same. Some classes, most notably, the Hunter, depend heavily on ranged weapons and dealing damage from afar with the same.

Patch 1.8.0 (2005-10-10): Fixed a bug where these abilities could be used faster than intended. 
Patch 1.7.0 (2005-09-13): Should no longer cause a global cooldown on all other abilities.
