This sword is a reference to the "Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi" of Japanese lore. It is one of three Imperial Regalia of Japan. "Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi" literally translates into "Grasscutter Sword". The sword is akin to Excalibur for Japanese mythology.
