Deterrence is a hunter ability, learned at level 78 for 20

. It decreases attackers' chance to hit the hunter and increases the hunter's chance to deflect spells and ranged attacks by 100%, for 5 seconds, but makes the hunter unable to attack for the duration.

[Crouching Tiger, Hidden Chimera] (Beast Mastery, Tier 5): Whenever you are hit by a melee attack, the cooldown of your
[Disengage] is instantly reduced by 2 sec. Whenever you are hit by a ranged attack or spell, the cooldown of your Deterrence is instantly reduced by 4 sec. These effects have a 2 sec cooldown.
[Mirrored Blades] (Survival, Tier 4): When attacked by a spell while in Deterrence, you have a X% chance to reflect it back at the attacker.

Patch 4.0.6 (2011-02-08): Now provides 100% chance for melee attacks to miss instead of 100% parry chance. This means that attacks that cannot be parried, notably some rogue abilities, can now be prevented by Deterrence, and the hunter will gain the benefit of Deterrence even if disarmed.
